BME welcomes CNMV’S initiative to streamline the registration of Fixed Income issues in Spain

1 December, 2017
  • As of today the volume of new Fixed Income issues in BME reached €103 billion

BME welcomes the initiative announced today by the Spanish stock market regulator – CNMV – to simplify and encourage the registration of issues of Fixed Income securities in the Spanish market.

The goal of these measures is to streamline the registration processes and revert the trend by market participants (issuers, underwriters and advisers) of issuing Fixed Income securities outside Spain, a situation also faced by other European financial centres.

In addition to these measures, BME will change its fees as of 1 January in order to promote the registration of Fixed Income prospectuses in the Spanish market.

Combined, these two initiatives will help to make the Spanish Fixed Income market one of the most competitive ones across Europe.

As of today the volume of new Fixed Income issues in BME reached €103 billion, including contracts ranging from short-term commercial paper to covered bonds and securitisation issues.
