BME welcomes Acciona Energía

The company, valued at 8.8 billion euros, debuts on the stock exchange with a price of 26.73 euros per share.

It is the largest IPO on the Spanish stock exchange in six years.

BME today welcomed Acciona Energía with the traditional bell ringing, which was hosted by José Manuel Entrecanales, Chairman of Acciona Energía. He was accompanied by Jos Dijsselhof, Chairman of BME and CEO of SIX; David Jiménez Blanco, Deputy Chairman of BME and Chairman of the Madrid stock exchange and Javier Hernani, CEO of BME. The company set an initial price of 26.73 euros per share, which represents a value of 8.8 billion euros.

It has been the largest IPO on the Spanish stock exchange since 2015.

The event was held with a limited attendance and under strict security measures due to the pandemic.

Acciona Energía is the third company to join the main market so far this year. In his speech, David Jiménez stated that this transaction marks the beginning of the economic recovery after it ground to a halt due to pandemic and the change in the productive model towards a green and sustainable environment.

The company began trading under the ticker symbol "ANE".
