Catalonia-based companies listed on BME Growth have tripled their market capitalisation since 2018

• Catalonia-based companies listed on the SME Growth market have a market value of 871 million euros.
• So far this year, these companies have raised 73.7 million euros in seven capital increases.
• Three of the eleven companies that have joined this BME market in 2022 are based in Catalonia

The eleven Catalonia-based companies * listed on BME Growth had a combined market capitalisation of 871 million at the end of September. This figure is 3.3 times as much as four years ago.  Their market value has grown steadily since then and these companies now account for 18% of the combined capitalisation of growth companies listed on BME Growth.

Over the last five years, the turnover of Catalonia-based companies listed on this BME market has registered a compound annual growth rate of 46.9%. During this period, their workforce has grown from 734 to 2,375 employees, more than three times as much. 

So far this year, 11 companies have listed on this BME market, three of which are from Catalonia (Enerside Energy, Vytrus Biotech and Hannun). Catalonia-based companies on BME Growth have carried out 7 capital increases in 2022, for an amount of 73.7 million euros, 54% more than the previous year.

The Catalonia-based companies listed on the SME Growth market are: Agile Content, Enerside Energy, Griñó, Hannun, Holaluz, Kompuestos, Lleidanet, Medcom Tech, Parlem, Solarprofit and Vytrus Biotech.

The sectoral distribution of Catalonia-based companies listed on BME Growth is in line with that of the market as a whole, in which innovative companies with a marked technological profile have a significant weight. Thus, 67% of the market is made up of four sectors: pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), renewable energy and software, engineering, electronics and digitalisation.

BME Growth is a market open to all types of companies, regardless of their size or sector. 74% of the companies listed on this SME Growth market have a market capitalisation between 10 and 250 million euros. Last year, these companies increased their turnover by 28.9%, their EBITDA by 9.8% and their workforce by 34%.

This BME market comprises 132 companies. Between 2009 and 2021, 439 capital increases were carried out for an amount of 5.7 billion euros. In the last four years, the trading volume of BME Growth companies has increased by 307%, representing a compound annual growth rate of 42.05%.
