Bolsas y Mercados Españoles has set up a Management Committee responsible for permanent coordination between the Company's business areas and activities and associated companies.
Chairman of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, (BME) and of the Bolsa de Madrid.He has been also Chairman (2001/2003) of the World Federation of Exchanges, Chairman (1996/1998) of FESE (Federation of European Exchanges), Chairman of SCL, Chairman (1995/2005) of ECMI (European Capital Market Institute), Chairman (1990/2006) of Santander Central Hispano Bolsa, and member of the Board of the IASC (International Accounting Standards Committee). He has been involved in banking and securities markets activities for most of his career. He is member of the Board of Directors of significant companies, including Clearstream (ISCD) and OMEL (the Spanish electricity market). He has a Law Degree from the Madrid University and completed studies in other US and European Institutions.
Holds a Degree in Economics and Business Management from Universidad Comercial de Deusto and a Master’s Degree in European Studies from Brugges European School. Before joining BME, Javier worked as European Financial Sector consultant at Coopers & Lybrand Brussels. He has also worked as CFO at Norbolsa. After that, he joined the Bilbao Stock Exchange as Deputy General Manager.
She holds a Degree in Business Science - specialising in Finance - from CUNEF and holds an Executive MBA Degree from the Instituto de Empresa. She had worked as the Comptroller of the BME Group since 2003 and was actively involved in the company's IPO, in 2006. In 1999 she joined SENAF and later on she became the CFO of MF Holding, which comprised MEFF, AIAF and SENAF. Prior to this she had worked for Deloitte.
PhD in Business and Economic Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His doctoral thesis dealt with the "Electronic trading of shares in the Spanish stock market." He holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management and Investment Analysis from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is the Director of the Equities, Derivatives and Fixed Income Markets of BME, Chairman of MEFF and of AIAF. He is also a member of the ESMA Secondary Markets Standing Committee Consultative Working Group and Chairman of the Spanish supervisor (CNMV)’s Advisory Committee.
Jesús Benito is the CEO of Iberclear. He has worked actively with a number of pan-industry working groups such as CESAME and CESAMEII, the Expert Group Market Infrastructure (EGMI), the Monitoring Group of the Code of Conduct (MOG), and the Consultative Working Group for the Post-Trading Standing Committee. He has been Member of the ECSDA Board and Executive Committee. Formerly, from 1988-2000, he worked for the Bank of Spain.
Holds a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). Executive Chairman of BME Market Data and Director of Market Data & Value-Added Services.He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of European Stock Exchanges (FESE), assists in the Executive Committee of the Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsas (FIAB) and represents BME in the Working Committee of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and Board of the European Capital Markets Institute (ECMI).
He has a Law Degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He also completed post-graduate courses at the University of Georgetown and UCLA (USA). He is the Director of the BME Group’s Legal Department and the Board’s Legal Advisor. He is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Madrid Stock Exchange and Vice Secretary of the Board of Directors of Sociedad de Bolsas. Jaime also serves as member of the Advisory Committee of the CNMV on behalf of the official secondary markets and multilateral trading systems. In addition, he is the Lead Legal Advisor of the State Council.
Civil Engineer from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He is the Director of Technology at BME. From 1989 to 2002 he was Director of Organisation of the Madrid Stock Exchange. Previously and for nearly a decade he worked at Accenture as a consultant and project manager.
He holds a Law Degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Later on he studied a Masters’s Degree in International Relations at the University of Paris VI. He is the Director of Corporate Communications at BME. In 2001 he joined the company as Head of Media Relations of the Madrid Stock Exchange. Before working for BME, he worked for 4 years as a consultant in different areas of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.
