Javier Hernani Burzaco CEO
Holds a Degree in Economics and Business Management from Universidad Comercial de Deusto and a master’s degree in European Studies from Bruges European School. Before joining BME, Javier worked as European Financial Sector consultant at Coopers & Lybrand Brussels. He has also worked as CFO at Norbolsa. After that, he joined the Bilbao Stock Exchange as Deputy General Manager. He leads the business unit Securities Services at SIX. He is vice chairman of FIAB and member of the Board at OMEL and ISSA.
Marta Bartolomé CFO
She holds a Degree in Business Science - specialising in Finance - from CUNEF and holds an Executive MBA Degree from the Instituto de Empresa. She had worked as the Comptroller of the BME Group since 2003 and was actively involved in the company's IPO, in 2006. In 1999 she joined SENAF and later on she became the CFO of MF Holding, which comprised MEFF, AIAF and SENAF. Prior to this she had worked for Deloitte.
Beatriz Alonso-Majagranzas BME Exchange
Holds a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and a Master’s in Applied Finance by Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI). She is Head of the Equities, Fixed Income and Market Data Areas of BME, Member of the Boards of MEFF, Sociedad de Bolsas and the Stock Exchanges, as well as Member of the CNMV Advisory Committee. She is also Member of the ESMA Secondary Markets Standing Committee Consultative Working Group and Member of the IEAF FEF Advisory Council.
José Manuel Ortiz Repiso Jimenez Clearing
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics Science from the San Pablo CEU University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from IE Business School. He joined BME in 2000 and between 2003 and 2013 he worked supervising the Spanish Equities Market and headed BME’s equity market quality division. Between 2013 and 2016 he worked as project manager for the creation of a market data interface system (PTI). He leads the Clearing unit at SIX.
Jesús Benito Settlement and Registry
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Science from the Complutense University. Jesús Benito is the CEO of Iberclear. He is also chairman of REGIS-TR. Furthermore, he is chairman of the “T2S CSDs Steering Group (CSG)” since its inception in 2012. He has worked actively with several pan-industry working groups organized by the European Commission and ESMA. He has been Member of the ECSDA Board and Executive Committee. Formerly, from 1988-2000, he worked for the Bank of Spain. He is responsible for Domestic Custody & Trade Repositories t SIX.
Berta Ares Value Added Services
She is a graduate from the Madrid Polytechnic’s Higher Technical College of Telecommunications Engineers and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration International Executive from La Salle. She joined BME in March 2000 and has since worked in Visual Trader and Iberclear. In 2014 she was appointed Head of BME’s Project Management Office, Managing director at BME Inntech and Head of Program & Innovation Office at SIX.
Ignacio Olivares Blanco Legal Affairs
He holds a Law Degree from the Madrid Complutense University and a master’s degree in Public Law. He has pursued his career in the BME Group since 1993. He is currently Deputy Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Madrid Stock Exchange, Secretary of the Board of Directors of BME Sistemas de Negociación and Secretary of the Risk Committee and the Security Committee of BME. He has also worked as Head of the Regulatory Unit.
Arturo Merino Ginés IT
Telecommunication Engineer from the Universidad Europea de Madrid and master’s in quantitative finance from Afi. In 2019 he joined the company as deputy to the IT Management. Before that, he was CIO of MoraBanc for 3 years, and previously Managing Director in Accenture, consulting firm where he developed his professional career for 15 years in the Capital Markets area.
Pablo Malumbres Muguerza Corporate Communications & Public Affairs
He holds a Law Degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Later on he studied a Masters’s Degree in International Relations at the University of Paris VI. He is the Director of Corporate Communications at BME. In 2001 he joined the company as Head of Media Relations of the Madrid Stock Exchange. Before working for BME, he worked for 4 years as a consultant in different areas of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. He is also Head Marketing Securities Services SIX.
Jorge Yzaguirre Scharfhausen Deputy Head SIX Securities Services
Holds a Master´s Degree in business Administration and a Ph. D. in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He is Professor at different Universities in Madrid as well as an author of several articles in specialized sector publications and in different research papers and books. With more 30 years’ experience in the financial sector, Jorge Yzaguirre is Deputy Head Securities Services Business Unit at Group SIX. He was also Chairman of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF) and Chairman of the Financial Studies Foundation (FEF), from June 2016 to June 2022.
