29 May, 2017
  • The State Secretary for the Economy will open the event and the Chairman of the CNMV will close it
  • Over 20 chairpersons and CEOs of listed companies will attend the Forum
  • The significant presence of a large number of companies and investors reinforces MEDCAP as a meeting point for Spanish small and midcap companies
  • The third session of the Forum will feature the 7th gathering of MAB companies and investors, where the General Secretary for Industry and SMEs will be in attendance

100 Small and Midcap companies listed on the Spanish stock market - of which 70 are listed on the main market and 30 on MAB - and more than 150 institutional investors – of which 100 are Spanish and 50 non-residents - will participate during three days in the 13th MEDCAP Forum of Small and Medium Capitalisation companies, which BME will host in the Madrid Stock Exchange, starting tomorrow.

Antonio Zoido, Chairman of BME, will welcome participants during the opening session and afterwards special guest, Irene Garrido, State Secretary for the Economy and Support for Enterprises, will give a keynote address. Eduardo Diez-Hochleitner, Chairman of MásMóvil, Juan Velayos, CEO of Neinor Homes and José Luis Martínez, Chairman of Saeta Yield, will also speak on the opening panel.

More than 1.200 scheduled one to one meetings between listed companies and buy-side investors will provide a better understanding of the situation, evolution and prospects of Spanish midcaps. The Forum will be attended by a large number of corporate delegates, more than 20 chairpersons and CEOs and over 700 attendees.

The main objectives of the Forum are to boost the liquidity and financing potential of these companies and to allow investors, especially non-residents, to meet a group of companies that over the last few years have proven that their growth and internationalisation policies have been the right ones.

For a further year and during three consecutive days the event will bring together the main medium and small capitalisation listed companies with investors, intermediaries and analysts. Sectoral panels will be alternated with conferences and roundtables on various topics of interest. The afternoon of the second day is dedicated to a talk about the financing provided by MARF.

For the 7th consecutive year, the third day will be dedicated to a meeting between companies and investors in MAB and will feature keynote addresses by Begoña Cristeto, General Secretary for Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, and Sebastián Albella, Chairman of the CNMV, who will close the Forum.

Sponsoring the 13th MEDCAP Forum are Deloitte and GVC Gaesco Beka, as well as Morningstar, S&P Global Ratings, Axesor Rating, MABIA and Worldtelevision. Also collaborating are  the Instituto Español de Analistas Financieros (IEAF), Instituto BME  and EFPA.
