The companies listed on MAB market show higher levels of revenue, EBITDA and employment
Overview of activity on MAB in 2016
- The revenue posted by these companies grew 44% last year, their EBITDA did so by 85.3% and their staff increased by 11%
- In 2016, the MAB's Growth Companies raised 220 million euros in market financing
MAB's Growth Companies demonstrated last year that they are a prominent section within the Spanish medium-size companies and they boast a very positive situation in terms of Ebitda and employment.
The companies listed in this segment have registered rapid growth thanks to the financing obtained through the stock market in 2016, amounting to 220 million euros. In fact, they have increased their combined revenue by 44% to 1 billion euros, an increase that improves the strong growth rates posted in the preceding years, of 33% in 2014 and 21.2% in 2015. The compound annual growth in the last four years stood at 32.3%.
In addition, these companies have increased their combined EBITDA by 85.3% in 2016 to 118.5 million euros and by 78.7% in 2015. Between 2013 and 2016, the compound annual growth under this heading was 46.2%.
The companies listed on MAB have contributed significantly to the creation of employment, as the total number of employees in these companies increased by 18% in 2014, 9.7% in 2015 and 11% in 2016. At the end of the last year, 7,445 people worked for the companies listed on MAB, representing a compound annual growth of 13.6% in the four-year period from 2013 to 2016.
Jesús González Nieto-Márquez, Vice-President and General Manager of MAB, said: "MAB has consolidated itself as a source of financing for a large group of companies, allowing them to access the necessary capital through 25 capital raising transactions in 2016 to undertake new projects and assisting them during the crisis as they faced difficulties finding sources of financing ".
Tomorrow, the 7th MAB meeting will be held in the framework of the 13th MEDCAP Forum, which is being held in the Madrid Stock Exchange Palace. 30 companies listed on MAB will have the opportunity to meet with more than 150 investors and present their strategies to the financial community.
