Global compact

BME follows the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which it joined in 2011.

This initiative aims to promote business sustainability through the implementation of 10 universal Principles of conduct and action in the area of Human Rights and Business. These Principles are applied in the area of labour standards, the environment and the fight against corruption, in the strategy and the daily operations of all types of entities, to favour the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2015, the UN approved the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, an opportunity for countries and their societies to embark on a new path with which to improve the lives of everyone, without leaving anyone behind. The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals, ranging from the elimination of poverty to the fight against climate change, education, equality for women, environmental defence or the design of our cities.
