Luis Cid, CEO de Opdenergy, during the traditional bell-ringing
BME today welcomed Opdenergy, the second company to join the main stock market so far this year. Luis Cid, CEO of Opdenergy, led the traditional bell ringing in the Madrid stock exchange, where he was accompanied by David Jiménez-Blanco, Vice-Chairman of BME and Chairman of the Madrid stock exchange.
The company debuts at a price of 4.75 euros per share, representing a market value of 703 million euros.
"We are delighted to welcome Opdenergy to the stock exchange, whose IPO is yet another example of the unstoppable rise of sustainable finance. Stock markets are a natural way for renewable energy companies such as Opdenergy to diversify their financing sources and find the resources to develop their plans with an appropriate capital structure. In fact, in the last decade, Spanish listed companies increased their external financing via the stock markets to 55%, 15 points more than a year ago, which is great news for everyone", explained David Jiménez-Blanco.
Opdenergy started trading under the code "OPDE".
