ESG indices measure the degree of compliance of listed companies in terms of sustainability, using environmental, social and governance criteria, as well as gender equality. These are the IBEX ESG and IBEX GENDER EQUALITY indices.
The IBEX® ESG index is designed to represent the performance of securities that, as part of the IBEX 35 or IBEX Medium Cap indices, meet ESG requirements measured by a metric established by Inrate. The IBEX GENDER EQUALITY index is designed to represent listed securities that meet the requirement of having between 25% and 75% women on their board of directors and between 15% and 85% women in senior management positions.
A company’s ESG performance is measured through ratings produced by independent data providers and rating agencies, which assess environmental, social, and governance indicators. These evaluators review factors such as emissions, social impact, labor practices, and the quality of corporate governance to determine the company’s level of ESG compliance.
