The " Introductory Course to Stock Market Investment " tour came to a successful end on 14 March at the Madrid Stock Exchange. This series of events started last month at Valencia, followed by the Barcelona and Bilbao stock exchanges. The course was aimed at people who are thinking of starting to invest, but are not sure how to begin; as well as those who already invest, but feel they should broaden their knowledge.

The course, which was in face-to-face format and free of charge, was given by Enrique Castellanos (Director of Instituto BME) and Javier Tejedor (Self Bank's Digital Offering area). Those interested attended a 90-minute training session on stock market investment.

" At Self Bank we think it is very positive to see how more and more people are concerned about finding alternatives to make their savings profitable, as evidenced by the good reception of the event among the public," said Javier Tejedor.

"BME supports this type of initiative because we are committed to promoting financial literacy and we understand that for a market to function properly, it is essential that investors have the information and training they need to make decisions. And the best way to do this is to organise conferences that help to bring this knowledge of the financial markets closer to individual investors through our market members". Ignacio López, BME's Head of Equities Sales.

More and more people are considering making the leap from being savers to investors. Partnerships such as these demonstrate BME's commitment to increasing knowledge of investment and finance for the benefit of Spanish society.
