BME has taken a new step in its strategy to promote financial education through the signing of an agreement between Instituto BME and FundsPeople. With this alliance, BME becomes the training provider on financial markets in all European countries where FundsPeople Learning, the training platform of FundsPeople dedicated to professionals in the asset management and wealth advisory business, is present. This community, which grows every day, already has 200,000 users across the three countries. The training modules are now available in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, with free access to all the platform's content. In Spain, 31 modules are already accessible. In Italy and Portugal, they are starting with 17 modules, with more to be added. Starting in September, FundsPeople Learning will also be updated with new training content.
The platform offers training modules that allow users to accumulate hours of continuous education, as required by MiFID II regulations. It is also validated by CFA and can be recertified for 1 CPD.
The training is offered in modules categorised into three levels (first, advanced, and proficiency), making it adaptable to all types of profiles and interests within the financial community.
"The value proposition of FundsPeople Learning is part of the transformation process undertaken by FundsPeople in 2020, which is moving towards a knowledge and services platform model for the asset and wealth management community in Europe," says Gonzalo Fernández, CEO and founder of FundsPeople.
"The alliance with BME comes five years after the launch of FundsPeople Learning and represents a qualitative leap in the training offer provided to the investment community," he adds.
"This agreement is a clear demonstration of BME and Instituto BME's commitment to continuing to promote quality financial education accessible to everyone. We are delighted to collaborate with a prestigious institution like FundsPeople, and we are excited to begin working together to achieve our shared educational goals," stated Enrique Castellanos, director of Instituto BME.
As Castellanos explains, the agreement strengthens BME's commitment to financial education and aligns with one of the strategic objectives the company set at the beginning of the year: bringing financial markets closer to both businesses and the general public. Promoting knowledge and interest in investment is one of BME's key priorities.
In addition to topics on financial markets, in the coming months, FundsPeople will enrich its content with other verticals, such as financial planning, regulation, alternative assets, or talent.
Instituto BME, which has welcomed more than 100,000 students over the past 20 years, has collaboration agreements with institutions in Spain and Latin America. It boasts expert faculty in market-related subjects with extensive teaching experience. Instituto BME's courses are aimed at market professionals, regulatory bodies, individual investors, students, and anyone interested in entering or deepening their knowledge of the financial world.
FundsPeople has over 12 years of extensive experience in training initiatives: in March 2013, it began publishing a test in its magazine in collaboration with EFPA, a way for more than 6,000 professionals to earn certification hours; in March 2018, it launched Funds Academia in partnership with Capital Group, an open training portal through which 10,000 readers accessed more than 200 educational contents annually. In June 2020, it launched the FundsPeople Learning platform, which aims to add value in a sector that increasingly requires better training for professionals and higher-quality advice for investors. Now, five years after its launch, FundsPeople's training platform for professionals in the asset and wealth management business takes a qualitative leap with the signing of an agreement with Instituto BME, part of the SIX group.
