BME today welcomed DIGI, the third company to join the Spanish stock exchange in 2026. The company’s admission to trading was marked by a bell-ringing ceremony at the Madrid Stock Exchange, where Juan Flames, CEO, and Susana de Antonio, director of primary markets at BME, were joined by Marius Varzaru, CEO of DIGI Spain, Serghei Bulgac, CEO of the DIGI Communications Group, Catalin Neagoe, deputy CEO and Carlos Sanz, CFO of the company.

The company has begun trading under the ticker symbol “DIGIS” and opened at 5.6 euros per share, implying a market capitalization of 1,662 million euros.

According to Marius Varzaru: “Today is a very important day for us. DIGI’s listing on the Spanish stock market marks a milestone in our company’s history and a boost to its growth, which today, thanks to the strength of our business model, has earned the trust of our investors. This model is based on sustained investment in our own infrastructure, technological innovation, operational efficiency, and a commitment to our customers to provide them with the best service at our best price.”

At this event, attended by company representatives as well as institutional representatives and members of the media, Varzaru stated that “with DIGI’s initial public offering, the company’s financial capacity has been strengthened, complementing the sources of financing that have supported its growth to date, with the aim of continuing to execute its long-term business plan, which is aimed at achieving coverage of 21 million households with SMART fiber and  deploying up to 10,000 cell towers for  its mobile network  to  continue offering quality services with the best technology at competitive prices.”

Juan Flames, CEO of BME, emphasized that “DIGI’s decision to go public has been a natural step in its trajectory of expansion and uninterrupted growth, positioning it among Spain’s leading telecommunications operators. Its debut comes at a complex geopolitical moment, but within a positive macroeconomic and stock market environment, which underscores investors’ enormous interest in the Spanish stock market. We hope that other companies will be encouraged to follow its example and that we will see new IPOs very soon.”

With DIGI, the number of companies that have joined BME's markets this year has now reached thirteen, following the ten companies that have joined BME's growth markets since January and the listings of Arteche and TSK on the stock exchange in February and May.

DIGI is a telecommunications company that has been operating in the Spanish market since 2008, offering landline and mobile phone services, internet access, and television services. It operates its own high-performance fiber-optic network, which enables it to lead the market in internet access speeds; focused on the residential segment, it operates its own retail stores and maintains an extensive distribution network to market its services throughout Spain.

DIGI is part of the DIGI Communications Group, which has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications sector. Originally from Romania, where its core business is based, the company also operates in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. It has more than 11,700 employees and 11.4 million active services, as well as a nationwide network covering 14.2 million households through its SMART fiber network.
