Fixed Income Segments Lead SIX April Trading Volumes

Fixed income trading reported the highest growth on BME Exchange in April, with turnover almost doubling (+96.2%) in comparison to April 2025. Equities trading turnover also held strong with an increase of 15.2% year-on-year (YOY). Overall turnover on the Spanish market reached EUR 56.7bn, constituting a 27.0% growth over April 2025.

The segment with the highest growth on SIX Swiss Exchange also was fixed income, with turnover up 2.9% YOY. Total trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange across the month reached CHF 97.3bn.

April saw the listing of Centiel SA on SIX Swiss Exchange. The Swiss-based technology group started trading under the ticker symbol CNTL. Based on an opening price of CHF 3.20 per share, the company’s market capitalization stood at approximately CHF 261 million.

On the product listings side, the Swiss market saw 28,695 structured product listings. As a result, the threshold of 100,000 product listings has already been surpassed within four months in 2026, reaching 108,864 at the end of April.

The main Spanish index, the IBEX 35 ®, rose 4.3% in April to reach 17,781.0 points, while the Swiss blue chip SMI ® concluded the month up 2.8% at 13,136.3 points.
